A three-day training course on the 'Management of Crops' will be held at Kairon Kisan Ghar, PAU, from March 24 -26 for the farmers of Bathinda under the aegis of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA). Giving details, Dr M.S.Gill, Director of Extension Education, PAU, said that the programme will hold deliberations by experts to educate the trainees about the management of crops. They will provide useful tips to the trainees for marketing of their crop produce, explain the worth of oilseed crops in farming, profitable cultivation of maize, cultivation of cotton, pulses and medicinal crops with thrust on turmeric and mentha. The farmers will be equipped with technical knowledge about management of crop diseases, water use efficiency and safe use of pesticides for crops. He added that for the practical exposure, the trainees will be taken round the herbal garden and demonstration plots of various crops.
Dr Gill told that Dr V.K. Bhambota and Rupinder Kaur will be the course coordinators while Dr Surjit Singh and Mr Pasar Mahir will be the technical coordinators. He informed the registration will take place on March 24 at 9.00 a.m. at the venue of the programme.
