Tableware ridicules foundation stone laying spree
LUDHIANA, March 5:
Ludhiana MP and the national spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Manish Tewari today ridiculed the foundation stone laying spree of the Akali-BJP government in the state. He said, it was surprising while the government did not have money even to pay salaries to its employees, it was laying down foundation stones without having any money to follow these up.
Addressing a series of meetings in different villages of Gill assembly segment, Tewari asked the government to list out as how many projects it had started after laying down the foundation stones, not to speak of completing these. He said, the government can no longer befool the people by false claims and camouflage of development as it was already exposed before them.
Tewari said, the government had not even done the routine development it was expected to do. "The Akali-BJP leadership seems to have reconciled to the fact that they were certainly going to be defeated hence there was no need for development", he observed, while adding, this alliance had a defeatist tendency and it was counting its last breathes.
Tewari also listened to the problems of the people of these villages and assured them he would ensure that these are sorted out at the earliest and to their full expectations.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Ex Minister Malkiat Singh Dakha, Jagpal Singh Khangura, Pawan Dewan, Paramjit Singh Ghawaddi and others.
