Ramgarhia Girls College holds Annual Prize Distribution



LUDHIANA, 6 March (Gurzent Singh)

The Annual Prize Distribution function of Ramgarhia Girls College was held on 6th March,2011 in the college auditorium. On this occasion, more than 160 students got academic prizes for their performance in the House Exams in B.A., B.Com, B.C.A. and B.Sc. classes and Post Graduation departments of Punjabi, Music and Fine arts. Students were given appreciation awards for their performance in Inter Zonal Youth Festival held at Doraha, in which the college Quiz Team and Music Instrumental Team won the Ist prizes in a total of 12 zones. The Central Students Association of the college which worked in the unison throughout the session for the smooth functioning of the college and during various activities won special applause for their role as mediators between students and faculty members.

President, Ramgarhia Educational Council, S. Ranjodh Singh extended a hearty welcome to the Chief Guest, Sh. Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament for accepting the invitation and blessing the students with words of encouragement. Sh. Manish Tewari got nostalgic and remembered his college days and commented on the significant rise in member of women's college in his constituency, Ludhiana.

S. Jagtar Singh, General Secretary, Ramgarhia Educational Council accorded a warm welcome to Dr. Jaswant Singh, Additional Commissioner, GLADA for accepting the invitation as Guest of Honour. In his address to the students, S. Jaswant Singh said that recognition in one's own institution is the first step to glory, and from this first step, they can climb to the zenith of glory. It is a long and tough road uphill, but grit and determination are the key ingredients to success. S. Malkiat Singh Dakha, Former Minister, Punjab, K.K. Bawa, Pawan Dewan was also present.

Principal, Dr. Narinder Sandhu, congratulated the prize winners for their outstanding academic results, and for excelling in other fields like NCC, NSS and cultural activities. She said that the college had established itself as one of the leading institutions of Ludhiana in the last 4 decades and is making progress at a steady pace.
