Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU said that Sahir Ludhianvi has immortalized the name of the city with his writings. With his evergreen lyrics, touching varied facets of life and society, Sahir Ludhianvi will be remembered for long time to come, said he. He said that the University recognized the beauty of Sahir\'s poetry by naming a flower, as Gul-e-Sahir. Famous Urdu poet and a PAU employee, Krishan Adeev composed a book \'Sahir Khuabon Ka Shehzada\' (Sahir, a Prince of Dreams), two decades ago which was translated into Punjabi by another employee and a famous poet, Ajaib Chitarkar. He said that now, a former PAU teacher, Dr. Anup Singh Sandhu, authored a book on the life and contributions of Sahir Ludhianvi. Dr. Kang made these expressions after releasing an anthology of Punjabi poems \'Vehnde Jazbat\' by Mr. Harinder Singh Barhmi. The author is serving in Indian Army and pens his thoughts in the form of poems. Dr. P.S.Aulakh, Director Students Welfare appreciated the poetry that covers wide ranging subjects including environment, trees, mother, freedom struggle, festivals, etc.
Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Additional Director of Communication described the poems included in the book as realistic expressions. Mr. Gurbhajan Gill said that the amplitude of the poems is global and genuine. Others who discussed the content and style of the book included, Prof. Ravinder Bhathal, Mr. Trailochan Lochi and Dr. Gulzar Pandher. They congratulated the author for the book release.
