As a part of the National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC), the Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha Ludhiana organized an Ecology and Environment Awareness Camp at the Govt. Polytechnic Girls College, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana. More than 200 students participated in the camp. Maj. Sher Singh Aulukh, President BJGVJ, Dr.Arun Mitra – General Secretary, Dr.Balwant Singh-Vice President, Mrs.Kusum Lata – Secretary and Dr.Amrit Pal Singh – Secretary BJGVJ addressed the students and faculty of the college. They warned that if proper steps are not taken now to conserve ecology and save biodiversity then the life of human race will land up in great difficulties in future. The students must take initiative to change their life style to environmental friendly style. We must reduce the use of plastics, plant more and more trees and do not soil our surroundings. They also warned about the danger of nuclear radiations as has occurred in Japan and demanded review of India's nuclear programme, instead use environmental friendly renewable energy resources. Er.M.P.Singh – Principal of the college, Er.S.P.Singh, Er.Major Singh Randhawa and Er.Mr.Khan also addressed the meeting and declared that they will soon organize an extensive workshop. The students also organized the poster exhibition on the subject.
