Punjab Agricultural University is organizing Kisan Mela at its Regional Station, Gurdaspur on March 22. Giving details, the Director of Extension Education, Dr. M.S.Gill said that this will be the last Kisan Mela in the series of six organized during this month. He said that the Mela will have Hon\'ble Minister for Agriculture, Punjab, S. Sucha Singh Langah as Chief Guest while Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU will preside over and Mr. Pirthi Chand, Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur as Guest of Honour. The mela will be inaugurated at 10.30 a.m. followed by live field demonstrations (10.30 to 11.30 a.m.) and technical session (11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.). Dr. Gill said that farmers can put their queries about farming to the experts in the question answer session. He added that the mela activities will revolve around its theme \'Better living standard through innovative farming\'. The new technologies and recommendations made by PAU experts will be displayed through technical stalls, he said adding that farmers and farm women will find a lot many activities of their interest in the Mela and there will be special points for the sale of seeds, nursery plants, farm literature, processed products, etc. in addition to displays of new farm machinery in the agro-industrial exhibition. He has appealed to farmers and farm women to participate in the Mela in large numbers.
