The third Kisan Mela of PAU will take place at Ballowal Saunkhri, near Balachaur (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar) on March 11. PAU's Director of Extension Education, Dr M.S.Gill, giving details, said that Ajmer Singh Lakhowal, Chairman, Punjab Mandi Board, will be the chief guest and Chaudhari Nand Lal, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab, will be the guest of honour on this occasion. Dr Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, will preside over the inaugural function, to be held at 10.30 a.m. With the theme \'Raise standard of living through innovative farming\', the mela aims at educating the farmers and farm women about the need-based technologies of farming. The farmers' fair would provide a platform to the farming community to interact with subject experts on various aspects of agriculture and seek solutions to their farm problems. An exhibition showcasing latest techniques and technologies developed by PAU will be organized on this occasion.
