Manisha crowned Miss Farewell, GCW

A farewell function was organized by the B.A. II year students to bid farewell to the outgoing students of B.A. III year at Govt. College for Women, Ludhiana here today. The Principal of the college Mrs. Gurminder Kaur was the chief guest on this occasion. She was given a warm welcome by Mrs. Paramjeet Kaur. The B.A. II year students presented a cultural show comprising of events ranging from Classical Dance, Hip Hop, Modeling, Medley, Songs etc.

Speaking on this occasion, the Principal Mrs. Gurminder Kaur encouraged the students to be good human beings first in addition to be successful. She said that they should work hard to get good marks in the annual examination and urged them to keep up the glorious the tradition of the college. Moreover it also being Women Day, she said that we should maintain dignity and respect of women. The society that does not respect women cannot make any social, cultural and economic development. In the west, women have an equal and important place in the society which is the main reason of the all round development of these nations. She further said that the students should be conscious of the rights of the women. She congratulated and applauded the efforts put in by the student council of the college and their Teacher Incharge Mrs. Paramjeet Kaur for organizing such an excellent program.

Manisha was crowned Miss Farewell and Arsheen and Naina were adjudged first and second runners up respectively. Arsheen was crowned Miss Beautiful smile, Shagufta was crowned Miss confident, Naina was crowned Miss Panache, Tanvi was crowned Miss Best Dressed and Manisha was adjudged Miss Elegant. The judges for the day were Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Ms. Kultar Kapoor and Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur.
