Political leaders from across the spectrum have expressed their shock and grief at the sudden demise of Aditya Jaitely, staff photographer of Times of India.
Aditya, the son of prominent Ludhiana-based journalist Ashwani Jaitely, was killed late on Saturday when the car in which the photographer and three of his colleagues were travelling in, hit a truck head-on. His colleagues have been admitted to hospital. One of them, Naveen Kalia, is reportedly in a serious condition.
Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has expressed their deep shock at Aditya's untimely death. In a message, they had described him as a promising news photographer whose career was cut short by this tragedy. They also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured reporters.
Others who offered their condolences to the family include Ludhiana MP Manish Tewari and Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Member of the Legislative Assembly. (Ludhiana West) Harish Rai Dhanda.
