The Science Dept. of Govt. College for Women, Ludhiana organized a Farewell Party for its final year students here today. Principal of the college Mrs. Gurminder Kaur was the chief guest on this occasion. Dr. Mohinder Kuar Grewal, Head of the Botany Dept. welcomed the chief guest.
In her address, the principal gave her best wishes to the outgoing students for their upcoming annual examination. She urged the students to work hard and to follow the path of righteousness in their personal and professional lives. She appreciated the hard work and efforts put in by the faculty of the science dept. and gave them the credit for getting hundred percent results in the University exams.
The second and first year students presented a cultural extravaganza comprising of included dance, medley, laughter show, group dance, songs and games for students and teachers. The highlight of the show was modeling by the students.
Geetanshu Sharma was crowned Miss Farewell and Tejinder Kaur and Jasmine were adjudged first and second runners up respectively. Harleen was crowned Miss Confident, Vipul Miss Beautiful Hair and Tanvi Miss Graceful.
On this occasion many members of the staff including Vice Principal Mrs. Sudarshan Mehta, Dr. Manju Sahni, Prof. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Ravinder Kaur, Mrs. Mahinder Kaur, Mrs. Kirpal Kaur, Miss Satveer Kaur, Dr. Harinder Kaur, Dr. Anita Joshi, Miss Ramanjeet Bhatti, Dr. Madhvi Vashisht were also present.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Varinderjeet Kaur, Head of Chemistry Dept.
