Nepalese police say a television executive in custody on suspicion of dealing in fake Indian currency is being treated for a gunshot wound after he was attacked by a visitor.

Police official Arjun Shahi told reporters they are investing the security lapses at the heavily guarded Central Jail in Katmandu.
He said the attacker is an Indian national who smuggled a gun through security checks. He has been arrested.
