Boards: Govt gears up to ensure copy-free exams

To make sure that students do not indulge in copying during Board examinations, while the heads of government schools will be deputed as controllers in affiliated schools, the heads of affiliated schools will be appointed as controllers in government schools.



A deputation from the Association of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), Affiliated Schools in Punjab (Regd) met Education Minister Sewa Singh Sekhwan on Saturday and congratulated him for trying to do away with copying during Board examinations. Recently, the government had decided to depute the heads and principals of government schools as examination controllers in affiliated schools.



Rajinder Sharma, president of Association of PSEB Affiliated Schools, said: "A deputation of met the education minister and appreciated the government's step stop copying during examinations. The team told him that as heads of government schools are being deputed as controllers in affiliated schools, the head of affiliated schools should also be appointed as controllers in government schools. The minister agreed to this."





"Some government and affiliated school controllers, along with the staff deputed for examination centers, help students to copy during exams in lieu of money. To curb this menace, the government has ordered the district education officers (DEO) to depute controllers in their district in accordance to the policy of the government. If any students indulges in copying, the DEO of the concerned district will be held responsible," said Sharma.
