The 'Holi Celebration Function 2011' was celebrated at Everest Pb. Sr. Sec. School, Moti Nagar, Ludhiana on 18th March, 2011 with great pomp & show. The tiny-tots came in the colourful dresses. The students also performed colourful programme of dance, skits & advertisements etc.
Sh. Rajinder Sharma, President, Association of the PSEB Affiliated Schools Punjab (Regd.) delivered short stories about the importance of the day. He said that Holi - the festival of colors - is undoubtedly the most fun-filled and boisterous of Hindu festival. It\'s an occasion that brings in unadulterated joy and mirth, fun and play, music and dance, and, of course, lots of bright colors! He further said that festival of Holi can be regarded as a celebration of the Colors of Unity & Brotherhood - an opportunity to forget all differences and indulge in unadulterated fun. It has traditionally been celebrated in high spirit without any distinction of cast, creed, & color.
On this occasion Principal, Mrs. Asha Sharma, said that Holi festival commemorates the victory of good over evil, brought about by the burning and destruction of the demoness named Holika. She had also explained the duties of students and told them how they would achieve their aims by following the noble path.
Mrs. Shashi Sharma, In-Charge cultural activities said that It is one occasion when sprinkling colored powder (\'gulal\') or colored water on each other breaks all barriers of discrimination so that everyone looks the same and universal brotherhood is reaffirmed. On this Cakes and sweets were distributed among the children.
