XIX BIENNIAL AICRP HOME SCIENCE WORKSHOP AT PAU

LUDHIANA,

The College of Home Science, PAU, in collaboration with ICAR Directorate of Research on Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar, is organizing a two-day XIX Biennial Workshop of All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Home Science on February 16-17. Dr K.D.Kokate, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), New Delhi, will be the chief guest while PAU Vice-Chancellor, Dr Manjit Singh Kang will preside over the inaugural function. More than hundred home scientists from across the country will participate in the workshop.

Giving details, Dr.Neelam Grewal, Dean, College of Home Science and Convener of the Workshop, informed that there will be five plenary sessions during the workshop in which the experts will deliberate on the research areas of Food & Nutrition, Human Development, Clothing & Textiles and Home Science Extension Education, which will be beneficial in carrying out researches to improve the quality of living and raise the development index of the country. The workshop will be geared towards formulating the action plan in all the areas of Home Science for knowledge and skill empowerment of rural women, she said. Eminent scientists who will share their vision and experiences with the participants include Dr.R.C.Maheshwari, Vice-Chancellor, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Dr.Krishna Srinath, Director, Directorate of Research on Women in Agriculture (ICAR) Bhubaneswar, Dr.V.V.Subramanian, Assistant Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR and Dr.S.S.Gosal, Director of Research, PAU.
