Thousands go to Delhi to participate in Nationwide workers protest march to Parliament

Thousands of workers belonging to All India Trade Union congress (AITUC), Industrial workers, Construction Workers, Palledars, Bhattha Mazdoors, federations and associations of employees of Banks, Insurance, Railways, Telecom, Electricity , Anganwadi, Aasha workers, mid day meal workers etc went to Delhi by rail and road from different parts of the district to participate in Nationwide workers protest march to Parliament for :



1. Check on rise in prices of essential commodities and effective Public distribution system.

2. Increase minimum wage to Rs. 10,000-00 per month

3. Stop disinvestment of public sector units.

4. Enroll regular employees in various sectors and end to contract system

5. Effective implementation of already existing labour laws.

6. Stop so called reforms in labour laws which are totally anti workers.

7. Immediate implementation of security of service laws for the workers of unorganized sector.

8. Stop misuse of section 144 to suppress peaceful workers agitations.

9. Anganwadi and Asha workers be given regular employment with grade equivalent to class 3 and 4 employees.

10. Trade unions should be given representation in the tripartite committees and hold regular meetings of these committees.



These workers were carrying banners and placards in support of their demands and shouted slogans. The AITUC Jathas were led by Com O P Mehta, D P Maur , Mewa Singh, Gurnam Sidhu, Amar Singh, Naresh Gaur, Gurnam Gill , Harbhajan Singh, Vijay Kumar, Feroz Master and others.
