A LALOR taxi driver who dumped the body of toddler Gurshan Singh Channa in Oaklands Junction has been sentenced to five years' jail.
Gursewak Dhillon, 25, pleaded guilty last year in Victoria's Supreme Court to manslaughter by criminal negligence, following the incident at a house in David St, Lalor, on March 4 last year.
The court heard that Dhillon, who lived in Lalor with Gurshan and his parents Harjit Kaur Channa and Hapreet Singh Channa, fled the David St house with the three-year-old toddler after accidentally knocking him unconscious as he opened the front door on the morning of March 4.
Supreme Court justice Lex Lasry set a maximum term of five years, with a minimum of three years to be served
