PAU BRINGS STUDENTS IN DIALOGUE WITH FCD

Dr. Pushpinder Singh Aulakh, Director Students Welfare, PAU, informed that a meeting of the agitating students of the Punjab Agricultural University was arranged, through the efforts of the University authorities, on Monday with the Financial Commissioner (Development), Punjab, Mr. Navreet Singh Kang and Director of Agriculture, Punjab, Dr. B.S.Sidhu. In the meeting, that was held in a congenial atmosphere, the students apprised the Government officials of their demands relating to filling up of the vacant posts of ADOs (Agriculture Development Officers) in the Department of Agriculture, Punjab, said Dr. Aulakh adding that a patient hearing was given to the students who were assured that the Government was keen to do the needful at the earliest in this regard. The students said that they will cooperate in maintaining the decorum and discipline in the university and will not do anything that will tarnish the image of this great Institution, said Dr. Aulakh. He further said that the students were keen to pursue their teaching programmes without delay and are carrying out their studies as per schedule. He said that the dialogue between students and the Government will help diffuse the situation. The PAU Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Manjit Singh Kang said that PAU has made efforts to bring the students to dialogue with Government earlier also. He has also written the Hon\'ble Chief Minister, S. Parkash Singh Badal for a meeting with students to discuss their issues.
