The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested former telecom minister A Raja in the 2G Spectrum case along with former telecom secretary Siddharth Behuria and Raja\'s personal secretary RK Chandolia. CBI will produce A Raja and his aides in the court on Thursday.
Addressing the media, representative of CBI said that Raja's chargesheet was filed under various sections of Indian penal code (IPC). Raja has been charged with criminal misconduct, violation of policies and favouring some specific companies during the granting of 2G spectrum licences.
CBI said that the arrests have been made on facts obtained so far in the 2G spectrum probe. "The arrests have been made under Prevention of Corruption Act," CBI added.
Raja has been arrested just two days after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
