Book Exhibition Begins at GADVASU

The two-day book exhibition organized by Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana was inaugurated by Dr. Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean College of Veterinary Science at the Examination hall of the College of Veterinary Science on 14th February, 2011 at 11:00 AM.

Dr. Singh visited various stalls of the participating book sellers/ publishers and substantiated keen interest in the books on recent developments in the Veterinary, Animal Sciences, Fisheries, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology and allied subjects. The University Officers, heads of the departments, faculty and students stopover various stalls and expressed intense attention to the latest published literature in respective areas. Around 19 renowned book sellers/ publishers from various parts of Northern India including New Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Rohtak and Ludhiana displayed books on the different disciplines of Veterinary, Animal Sciences, Dairy Technology, Fisheries, Biotechnology and allied areas.

Dr. P.K. Trehan, Prof.-cum-Librarian shared that besides strengthening the library collections, this exhibition is supposed to stimulate the reading interest among the students and faculty of the university. It will allow the stakeholders to update themselves with recently published reading material. The exhibition will promote friendly relationship between readers and books and will develop curiosity among the faculty and students to explore the books available on recent topics of interest.
