Annual Athlatic Meet of SCD Government College Ludhiana concluded

The 91st Annual athletic meet of the SCD Government College Ludhiana concluded today with great fan fare. Sh. Sharan Jeet Singh Dhillon, Chairman of the Punjab agro industries corporation limited was the chief guest at the concluding function. While addressing the students and the sportsmen Sh. Dhillon said that Government College Ludhiana has a rich traditions and many sports students of this college has achieved greater heights at the national and international level. . Around 2000 students of different classes participated in the two days event. Prof. D.S. chahal presented the annual report of the sports department and said that 35 players of this college participated in the different interuniversity tournaments and 25 players of different games participated in the junior and senior national tournaments and championships in sports disciplines. He further told Gitansh Khehra of B.Com-II of this college represented Punjab in Ranji Trophy tournament as well as Katoch shield tournament. Rajan sharma a basket ball player of the college represent Junior Asia FIBa basket ball tournament held at SENA . Komal Preet participated in the Junior National Basket Ball Championship held at Mumbai. Three students of this college won Gold Medal in Junior National Championship held at Ranchi.. Principal of the college while welcoming the Dhillon explained in detail the achievements of the college . In second day following were the results: 800 Hundred meters race, 100 meter race for both men and women, hammer throw , javelin throw, long jump, discuss throw and shot-put. In the 800 hundred meters Men's race Mandeep singh of B.A-II got first position by completing the race in 2.1838 minutes , Surinder Singh of B.A-II got second position by completing the race in 2.2040 minutes and Amandeep Singh of B.A-II got third position by completing the race in 2.25 minutes.



Other Results: 5000 Meters Race (Men), Mandeep Singh First, Surinder Singh Second, Vipin kumar Second; Shotput: Simarjeet First, Majwant (Second), Priyanka (Third), Juveline Throw: Ramandeep Kaur (First), Deepika (Second), Arshdeep (Third). Discuss Throw Girls (Majwant Kaur (First), Ramandeep Kaur (Second), Harpreet Kaur (Third).In 400 meters Men (Evening Joginder singh 1st, ravi yadav 2nd and Rahul Narang 3rd. In 400 Meter Men Morning Manadeep 1st, surinder 2nd and umesh 3rd. In 4800 meter men Khushdil 1st, paramjot 2nd and ramesh 3rd. Surinder Kumar was adjudged as besth athlete of the college among boys in the morning college and Paramjit Kaur among girls. In the evening college Ravi Yadav was adjudged as best athlete.
