Ahara K\'taka: Furnish LPG details before Feb 10

Bangalore,

The Food & Civil Supplies Department (FCSD) had asked the LPG consumers to submit their documents to stop the illegal outflow of connections and to scrub out bogus PDS ration cards . According to department sources, there are only 10 lakh households, but LPG connections have gone up to 20 lakh connections.

Buzz up!After receiving a series of complaint from people the FCSD have simplified the process for submitting details, instead of standing in a long queues, consumers can now submit details via fax, registered post or upload them online.

The FCSD has made it mandatory to submit the required documents before Feb 10, 2011, for the LPG consumers to avail uninterrupted supply.

The consumers need to submit APL cards, consumer name, LPG consumer number, RR number and enclose a copy of ration card, enclose a copy of recent electricity bill, consumer address and contact number.

LPG Consumers without APL cards should submit their Consumer name and address, LPG consumer number, RR number and enclose a copy of recent electricity bill and contact number. If two or three houses are attached to one electricity meter, all the consumers have to provide the same RR number of the meter.

The FCDS has introduced a toll-free phone line (1800-425-9339) to clarify customers doubts and receive their complaints.

This exercise is to scrub out bogus PDS ration cards and illegal LPG connections. After receiving the details the department will verify the genuineness of each ration card. If there is two ration cards such cards will be cancelled.

The Food & Civil Supplies Minister Shobha Karandlaje said, \"LPG agencies are spreading fear among people that the government would go on a disconnection drive. There\'s no need for panic as we have no such plan."
