G. N. International Public Sen. Sec. School, Model Town, Ludhiana, organized today on 10.01.2011 an Inter School Physics Competition, for the students of XI & XII.
Teams from around 20 CBSE affiliated schools from the district participated in the competition. Each team comprised of 6 students.
" We have been holding this competition for the past 6 years," said Principal Mrs.Gurmant Kaur Gill. She further elaborated that the purpose of this competition is to prepare the students for competitive exams like AIEEE, ITI, PMT, AII MS, AIPMT etc.
" With each year, the response from schools & students is getting better. It is an exercise to boost the confidence level of students, prior to the board & competitive exams." said Mrs.Gagan & Mrs.Manju, the organizers of the competition.
Lisa, a class XI student of GMT Public School, said – " I opted to appear in this competition to get a wider exposure by competing with toppers of various schools of the district. This will help me to face the approaching exam without any apprehensions."
Ayush, topper of last year's competition was also present on the venue, along with his ex-school's team- thus being a motivational factor for the students present there. He said, this competition has been instrumental in helping him to clear his IIT entrance exam. At present he is in IIT Roorkee and doing exceedingly well.
Students coming out of the competition hall, looked overall quite relieved and relaxed and were heard saying that the questions were meant for all who had their concepts clear. They further said,such competitions help them to assess their preparation level to a great extent and make amendments in their preparation wherever required.
