The state level training-cum-workshop for the members of progressive bee-keepers association will be held on November 3 at Kairon Kisan Ghar. Giving details, the Director of Extension Education, Dr. M.S.Gill said that the participants will be provided useful tips on the bee keeping profession, especially on the quality management of honey for domestic use as well as for export. Dr. P.K.Chhuneja will discuss other technologies for bee keeping. The registration will be held at Kairon Kisan Ghar at 10.00 a.m., said Dr. Gill.
He also shared that a training for farmers and farm women on the processing of juice from sugarcane and grapes into vinegar through fermentation will be held on November 10-11. The experts will provide technical know how as well as practical knowledge.
The PAU Kisan Club (Ladies Wing) will meet on November 4 at Kairon Kisan Ghar where Dr. Kulbir Singh will provide tips on establishing kitchen garden. The experts from College of Home Science will discuss methods for preparing sweets at home. An exhibition of lamps and candles prepared at home will be held. The Incharge of the Ladies Wing, Dr. Rupinder Kaur will discuss about the activities of the Club.
Meanwhile, the three-month training course on agriculture concluded today. While addressing the participants, the Additional Director of Extension Education, Dr. H.S.Dhaliwal said that participants learn a lot from training programmes. He added that they should excel in agriculture by following the advice of experts. He suggested farmers to market their farm produce by following the tips suggested by experts and stay away from middle men. He distributed certificates to 44 successful trainees. Dr. T.S.Riar, the Course Coordinator presented an overview of the activities held during the course. Dr. Jaswinder Singh Bhalla, Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Dr. R.S.Uppal, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Subhash Singh and Dr. Amarjit Singh also interacted with farmers.. The President of PAU Kisan Club, Mr. P.P.S.Pangli said that the farmers who get training from PAU are sure to excel in agriculture.
Dr. Gill said that the state level workshop on Horticultural crops will be held at PAU on November 2-3 wherein new technologies and recommendations will be discussed by experts and feed back received will be discussed.
