NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY CELEBERATED

Education is without question that very important and vital part of

our lives without which our lives would practically have no meaning.

It is a continuous and creative process the aim of which is to

develop the capacities latent in human nature and to coordinate their

expression for the enrichment and progress of society, by equipping

young mind with spiritual, moral and material knowledge. These were

the views expressed by the experts during their discourses delivered

at the National Education day function organized at SCD Government

College Ludhiana today. The National Education day was organized at

the college to tell the students regarding the role of education in

life under the directions of the Directions of Department of Higher

education Government of Punjab. While welcoming the students and

guests Mrs Jasbir Kaur Makkar, Principal of the College said that

role of education in life is considered very important, its make you a

social being and builds you to live in society and tries to make a

good human being out of you, but the culture, society and surroundings

you live make you \"Good or Bad Being\". She also tell about the efforts

and achievements of the college in the field of education. Member of

Rajya Sabha Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna who was chief Guest and delivered

the Key Note Address said that a well-educated community member is a

determined yet humble participant, who helps overcome conflict and

division thereby contributing to a spirit of unity and collaboration.

He said that the purpose of education for individuals both male and

female --- is to develop the powers and capacities latent within them,

so that they may contribute their share to an ever advancing

civilization. He appreciated the efforts of the college to inculcate

the value education among the students. While speaking on the occasion

Sh. Ishwar Singh Commissioner of Police Ludhiana said that Education

is the foundation if you consider life as a building. You can last

long facing many problems if you have a strong foundation. He spell

out the efforts of Ludhiana police to spread the message of Moral and

value education in the society. Many of the notable teachers of the

college, Dr. P.S. Sohi, Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Prof. Jaipal Singh, Prof.

R.K. Miglani, Prof. Harvinder Kaur Malik, Dr. Mukesh Arora, Dr. Satish

Kant, Dr. B.M. Sarwal, Dr. Dharam Singh etc also participated in the

programme. Large number of students of Under graduate and Post

graduate classes also participated in the programme.Sh. Avinash Rai

Khanna Member Parliament conducted a interactive session with the

students to under stand their way of thinking and philosopophy

regarding different segments of society. Sh Ishwar singh Police

commissioner also replied the students queries and satisfied the

students. Sh Anil Sareen Member of Punjab Public Service Commission

and Sh. M.M Vyas Chairman of the Improvement Trust also addressed the

gathering.
