Thumbs down to the Mr and Mrs Vivek Oberois\' wedding attire

One would have thought Vivek Oberoi\'s luck would change with his marriage to business management graduate Priyanka Alva. But the flop actor, sporting a clean shaven look, wasn\'t spared the critics\' digs even on his big day.

This time around, it wasn\'t his former rivals in love or film pundits or producers he disappointed, but the very unforgiving fashion police. Looking every bit the bridegroom at his wedding to Priyanka at her Bangalore residence on Friday night, the couple happily posed for the shutterbugs. While the wedding was a grand affair - with ceremonies both in Kannada and Punjabi style to be followed by a reception in Mumbai - it was the bride\'s and groom\'s wedding outfit that turned out to be an eyesore.

Designed by the czar of bridal wear Tarun Tahiliani, the overly coordinated outfits were quite a disaster. While Vivek wore a deep maroon, heavy brocade jacket with tacky embroidery top to toe, with velvet turban and jootis, his wife did not look any different. Her heavily embellished lehenga with 14 different colours on the panels and her antique jewellery were a bling overload.

The lehenga was designed keeping in mind that she was getting married to a Punjabi, Tahiliani said. But it seems when North weds South, the clothes are the biggest casualty. While the wedding was attended by a number of local politicians, the Bollywood fraternity, with the exception of Sushmita Sen and Sangeeta Bijlani, gave it a miss.

Reports suggest that fans, after having waited for more than three hours at the venue, were disappointed because almost no star turned up for the wedding. Among those guests who turned up were politician-cumactor Ambareesh and actors Sudeep and Ramya. Interestingly, Vivek had invited Abhishek Bachchan, hubby of his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai, to his Mumbai reception.

Also on the guest list was Sanjay Dutt, who is unhappy with Vivek after he reportedly made uncharitable remarks about his wife Manyata. It remains to be seen if they turn up.
