The PAU Inter-College Youth Festival for the session 2010 -2011 will kick off tomorrow

LUDHIANA, OCTOBER 20:-





The PAU Inter-College Youth Festival for the session 2010 -2011 will kick off tomorrow and a range of cultural activities will be organized during October 21 – 30. The student-artistes of the constituent colleges of the university would take part in different events of dance, drama, music, literary and fine arts. A variety of items ranging from Indian to the western numbers will be presented. The students are in high spirits and festive mood for this gala event.



The debate competition will take place tomorrow in the Students\' Home Auditorium where Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Additional Director, Centre for Communication and International Linkages, will preside over. Mr. A.C.Rana, the PAU Comptroller, will be the Chief Guest.



Briefing about the youth fest, Dr PPS Lubana, Director Students\' Welfare, said that more than 500 students will be participating in this fest. The formal inaugural session will be held on October 28. Mr. C.S. Talwar, Special Secretary Finance, & Director, Treasury and Accounts, Punjab and Rajbir Deswal, Inspector General of Police (CID),Haryana Police Head Quarters, Haryana will be the chief guests. The function will be presided over by Dr Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU. Mr. Gursharan Singh Sandhu, SSP Ludhiana (Rural) and Mr. Gurpreet Singh Toor, SSP Barnala will be the guests of honour.



Further elaborating, Dr. Lubana said that poetical recitation and declamation contests will take place on October 22 while competitions in fine arts will be held from 23-25 October. On October 28, music and creative dance items and on October 29 all the theatre items – drama, mime and mimicry competitions will be held. Skit, mono-acting and folk dance competitions will take place on October 30.
