GADVASU trained Vets for Modern Method of Extension Delivery System

The Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana organized training programme for the Veterinarians of the Punjab State on "Extension

Delivery System" from 25-29 Oct., 2010 and 10 Vets were trained in this programme. This training was sponsored by the Punjab State Veterinary Council, Chandigarh as intimated by Dr. Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean, College of Vety Science, Ludhiana and are in context with the present scenario as well as on the strategies to uplift livestock sector of the state. Dr. H.K. Verma , Course Director told that in this training course the Veterinary doctors were apprised about farm field school, various extension tools, extension programme planning, cyber extension, farmer participatory approach in extension, institute village linkage programme and video conference was practically demonstrated to the Vet trainees. A special lecture on topic "Perspective of Extension Education in Livestock Farming" was delivered by Jancy Gupta, Head, Dairy Extension Division, National Dairy Institute, Karnal. Mr. Nalin Rai, DDM, NABARD, informed about the Role of Banking Sector in Livestock Extension.

It is important to mention that the financial assistance was provided by Dr. Darshan Singh, Registrar, Punjab State Veterinary Council, Chandigarh under Eleventh five year plan, centrally sponsored schem0e as professional efficiency development through strengthening of Punjab State Veterinary Council. The Veterinarians were deputed by Dr. H.S.Sandha, Director, Animal Husbandry, Punjab.
