FORMAL INAUGURATION OF PAU YOUTH FEST ON OCTOBER 28

LUDHIANA, OCTOBER 26:-





The PAU Inter-College Youth Festival for the session 2010 -2011, under which different events have taken place since October 21, will be formally inaugurated on October 28 by Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU. The Director Students Welfare, Dr. P.P.S.Lubana informed that in the inaugural session, to be held in the PAU open-air-theatre at 10.00 a.m. a range of cultural activities will be organized. The student-artistes of the constituent colleges of the university would take part in different events, he said. A cultural procession with contingents of different colleges of PAU will start from the Museum of Rural Life of Punjab at 9.15 a.m. The music events including light vocal, Indian group songs, western solo and western group songs will take place at 3.00 p.m. in the open-air-theatre. The events scheduled for October 29 include shabad gayan (solo and group) at 10.00 a.m., quiz at 11.30 a.m. and one act play, mime and mimicry at 4.00 p.m. in the open-air-theatre.



Dr. Lubana informed that on October 30, the PAU open-air-theatre will have an extravaganza of skits, mono acting and folk dances at 3.00 p.m. followed by prize distribution at 6.00 p.m. He added that Mr. C.S. Talwar, Special Secretary Finance, & Director, Treasury and Accounts, Punjab and Rajbir Deswal, Inspector General of Police (CID),Haryana Police Head Quarters, Haryana will be the chief guests. The function will be presided over by Dr Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU. Mr. Gursharan Singh Sandhu, SSP Ludhiana (Rural) and Mr. Gurpreet Singh Toor, SSP Barnala will be the guests of honour. Dr. Kang will preside over.



The Cultural Coordinator, Dr. Nirmal Singh Jaura said that the arrangements for various events were reviewed today in a special meeting held by Dr. Lubana. To make the inaugural and concluding functions a great success, efforts are being made to ensure maximum participation of students, faculty and staff, he said.
