Fiza alias Anuradha Bali (39), the former second wife of Chander Mohan alias Chand Mohammad, the former Haryana deputy chief minister, was on Saturday night arrested by the local police over a spat

with her neighbour. She was, however, released on bail on Sunday afternoon after she spent a night in police custody.

The former assistant advocate general of Haryana was arrested as a preventive measure under Sections 107 (security for keeping peace) and 151 (arrest to prevent commission of cognisable offences) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on the complaint of her immediate neighbour, Ram Kishan Phoolia; but Fiza accused the police of acting with "bias" at Chander Mohan's "behest".

In a dramatic action, a police party headed by Superintendent of Police (City) Sukhwant Singh Gill and comprising DSP (City-I) Raka Ghirra and Phase XI SHO Sukhwinder Singh, swooped on Fiza's residence in Sector 48-C here late last night.

The police party had acted on receiving a call from Phoolia, who alleged that Fiza had thrown eggs, stones and some waste material in his rear courtyard and was allegedly disturbing peace and tranquillity.

When the police questioned Fiza over Phoolia's charges, she not only categorically denied them but also accused Phoolia of "harassing" her and "breaching" her privacy by installing CCTV cameras positioned towards her bedroom and washroom.

As the police insisted her to accompany them to the police station for investigation, Fiza asked the police to show her the arrest warrants, if any, against her.

Amid heated arguments and ruckus that ensued, the police whisked her away to the Phase XI police station, where she was kept in custody throughout the night
