The Annual Prize Distribution of G.N. International Public School, Model Town, Ludhiana

The Annual Prize Distribution of G.N. International Public School, Model Town, Ludhiana was held on 23rd October 2010.



The Chief Guest for the occasion, Prof. Gurbhajan Gill, President Punjab Sahit Academy, Ludhiana, a famous poet, writer, orator and promoter of mother tongue-Punjabi. He is also won many awards at National and International levels.



He was welcomed in the School Campus by the ceremonial Band display by students of classes VI to X. It was a splendid show appreciated by the chief guest himself.



Prizes for academic excellence were given to the students from classes III to XII who had done extremely well in the academics scoring 90% and above.



The overall toppers for the session 2009-2010 were given- Merit Certificates and Cash Prizes. This was to encourage the students to keep up to their standards and perform still better in the upcoming years of their student life and their life ahead.



Harjot Kanwal Singh and Gurpreet Kaur bagged the Best All Round Student trophy for their par excellence performance in Academic, Co-curricular and Sports activities.



Harguneet Singh was awarded the trophy 'Champion of Champions' for his performance in Abacus.



Trophy for Best House for the year 2009-2010 went to Gold House.



Principal Mrs Gurmant Kaur Gill read Annual Report and apprised the audience of the activities of the school in various fields and the achievements of students in various Co-curricular, Sports and Competitions held at different levels and the laurels they brought to their alma-mater.



" Inspiration and perspiration could be looked upon as key factors. Once the goals are set and objectives are clear – sustained effort and perspiration will lead you to success" was very rightly said by Principal Mrs.Gill.



Besides the Prize giving ceremony the students of GNIPS presented a Cultural Bonanza of dance & songs, which held the audience spell-bound and the performers got a thundering applause from the august gathering of parents and other dignitaries.



The highlight of the evening and a surprise for everyone was awards for the deserving teachers whose hard-work, sincerity and untiring efforts were appreciated by the Management, Director and Principal of the School



Chief Guest Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, spoke on the utmost importance of our mother tongue. He said, " English is important- to compete in an International scenario but at the same time, we must understand the relevance of our mother tongue. Your potentials and capabilities will be tapped better, without any hinderance, through your mother tongue." He further elaborated how- "Today's mothers are producing generations but not educating generations."While stressing on the use of regional language/mother tongue, he further elaborated that today's youth can represent his State/ Country, better through the use of mother tongue and elucidate his originality even more.



He further clarified that by saying this, he was not undermining the importance of English as an International or link language.



Director Mrs.P.Kahlon, General Sec. S.Gurbir Singh Sarna, Manager S.Harbhajan Singh Advocate, Joint Secretary S. G.S.Sarna thanked the Chief guest & presented him a token of love.



The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
