KISAN CLUB PLEADS FOR DROUGHT RELIEF TO FARMERS

Discussing about the prevailing agricultural scenario in the state, Mr. Pavittar Pal Singh Pangli, President of PAU KIsan Club said that the bumper crop yield obtained in last Kharif season was due to hard work and efforts made by Punjab farmers. They spent huge amounts on running generators, last year to save the standing paddy crop. The state had also earned more than 900 crore rupees from market fees and other cesses, said he adding that farmers must be provided drought relief measures. Further, Mr. Pangli said that agriculture being a state subject, farmers need an instant long term agricultural policy for sustainable growth in farm sector.
