DR. KANG RELEASES \'ENTOMOLOGY REPORTER\'

The Entomology Club in the Department of Entomology at PAU brought out a semi-annual newsletter, \'Entomology Reporter\' which was released by Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, in a special function, held today. In his remarks Dr. Kang said that PAU Department of Entomology has created a creditable niche at national level due to its sound research, education and technology transfer programmes. The toxicology lab of the Department has been recognized as a referral lab for agro-chemical residue analysis at the national level, he said adding that under the national agricultural research project, bee-keeping at PAU was given a team of excellence project. He appreciated the idea of starting the Entomology Reporter that he said will connect the entomologists not only from PAU and its outstations but also from rest of the SAUs of the country. He congratulated the Executive Committee of Entomology Club for bringing out the publication.



The Club President and Head, Department of Entomology, Dr. A.K.Dhawan said that the publication \'Entomology Reporter\' will serve as an interesting medium for dissemination of highlights in research, teaching, extension education and extra curricular programmes of the department.



The Additional Director of Communication, Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman said that the Department of Entomology brings out two research journals namely Indian Journal of Ecology and Advances in Insect Science. He said that the Entomology Reporter will serve as a potent instrument for projecting the entomological activities of PAU.



Earlier, the General Secretary of the Club, Dr. J.S.Virk welcomed Dr. Kang and the faculty members of the department participating in the function.
