LUDHIANA: Department of livestock products technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, organised a five-day training programme for field veterinarians working under state animal husbandry department.

LUDHIANA: Department of livestock products technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, organised a five-day training programme for field veterinarians working under state animal husbandry department.



Held under professional efficiency development programme, 'Requirement of meat and milk industry related to veterinary profession' was financed by Punjab State Veterinary Council.



The course director, Dr Jhari Sahoo, said the schedule of the training was extensive and included 30 lecture-cum-practical demonstrations. Total 11 veterinary doctors from districts of Ludhiana, Bathinda and Sangrur participated and learned latest know-how in the area of clean milk production, slaughtering and dressing operations in a meat plant, ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection of meat animals, quality evaluation of livestock products, adulteration in milk, meat and their products, project formulation for setting up of small slaughter house and dairy plant, cleaning and sanitation practices in dairy and meat plants as well as development of various value added milk and meat products.



All the trainees had hands-on-training for the preparation of various milk products
