Mayawati has 88-crore assets

LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Mayawati\'s total assets are valued at around Rs. 88 crore, according to a sworn affidavit she filed while submitting her nomination papers for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections here on Wednesday.



In 2007, her worth was around Rs. 52.27 crore when she contested a Council by-election after becoming Chief Minister.



In three years, her assets have grown by over Rs. 35 crore.



Ms. Mayawati has Rs. 12.95 lakh in cash and Rs. 11.39 crore in bank deposits, and she owns five sprawling commercial properties and bungalows at prime locations in New Delhi, Okhla and Lucknow. According to the affidavit information, Ms. Mayawati, who is also the president of the Bahujan Samaj Party, owns two commercial properties in the posh Connaught Place area of the national Capital.



These are: No. 3, Block B, Connaught Place, measuring 3628.02 square feet and valued at Rs. 2.05 crore; and B-34, I floor, Connaught Place, measuring 4535.02 sq.ft and valued at Rs. 1.27 crore. Her commercial property at No.1, Community Centre, Okhla, Phase I, New Delhi, measures 34,112.26 sq. ft and is valued at Rs. 15.50 crore.



Her house in New Delhi at 23-24 Sardar Patel Marg measures 3987.72 square metres and is valued at Rs. 54.8 crore. In Lucknow, her bungalow at 3 Nehru Road in the Cantonment area measures 1.08 acres. It is valued at Rs. 1,79,92,000.



Ms. Mayawati has 1,034. 260 grams of gold and 380.17 carats of diamonds, which are valued at Rs. 86.8 lakh. She also has an 18.5-kg silver dinner set, valued at Rs. 4.44 lakh, and murals worth Rs. 15 lakh.



She does not possess any agricultural or non-agricultural land, nor does she have a vehicle.



She has not opted for an LIC policy, nor does she possess any other financial instrument such as the National Savings or postal saving scheme certificates.



As for her education, Ms. Mayawati, after graduating from Kalindi College of Delhi University, did her B.Ed. from Meerut University in 1976 and LL.B from Delhi University in 1983.
