Sony Ericsson Announces New Appointment

London, UK - Sony Ericsson today announces that Mats Lindoff, Sony Ericsson Chief Technology Officer (CTO), has decided to leave the company effective 31st March to pursue new career opportunities.

Commented on today's announcement Mats Lindoff said, "After six inspiring years I have decided to pursue other opportunities outside Sony Ericsson. To be a member of the team who has built up Sony Ericsson has been a great privilege. The course of evolution and change in our industry has been extraordinary, thanks to the very creative, innovative and passionate people I have met at Sony Ericsson. I leave the company with many fond memories and wish the company well in the future."

Effective 1st April Ronald 'Ron' Louks, currently Head of Technology, Americas, and Deputy CTO, Sony Ericsson, will assume the role of CTO.

Sony Ericsson is a top, global industry player with sales of over 100 million phones in 2007. Diversity is one of the core strengths of the company, with operations in over 80 countries including manufacturing in China and R&D sites in China, Europe, India, Japan and North America. Sony Ericsson was established as a 50:50 joint venture by Sony and Ericsson in October 2001, with global corporate functions located in London.
