I BELIEVE IN WORKING IN A FOCUSED MANNER: DEPUTY CM

Two months after donning the mantle of Punjab�s Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal is now leaving nothing unturned to usher in an era of unprecedented development. �I believe in working in a focused manner,� said Badal.

Without any trappings, Sukhbir mingled with the mediapersons and chose not to disappoint anyone and whatever question was hurled at him. �If you work in a focused manner, the results have to be visible within a stipulated period of time,� Badal, also president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) told reporters.

�It is a perception that we are making mere announcements. The fact is that every announcement has been made only after the required ground work was done. Only after we were sure that a project could be executed on time by meeting all terms and conditions, we have gone for announcement,� said Badal.

�It has been only two years we came to power in the State, and look at the kind of development works that have been kick-started. The results are bound to be there to see in months to come,� said Badal, who also represents Bathinda in Lok Sabha. SAD-BJP Government has initiated a flurry of development works, notable among them are international airports in Mohali, Phagwara-Mohali Expressways, international airport in Ludhiana, Punjab�s industrial hub, IT University, and a central university.

These apart, Rs 550 crore was disbursed to carry out development works at the grassroots level, keeping in mind the people�s immediate requirements. �We have taken the developments to the people�s doorsteps,� said HS Bains, Media Advisor to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

How to translate development into votes? �It happens automatically. You serve the people, and they will reward you. The people�s mandate for us is to unfurl developmental activities in the State, and we are doing that with complete honesty,� added Badal.
