UPS apology is fine, but make it public, says victim family :- ISP Network

BAKERSFIELD: A Sikh family based in Kern County which had moved against the UPS for describing them as "terrorists" without any provocation has said while the informal apology by UPS was appreciated, it carry little weight. It has asked the UPS to submit an official apology in the media.

UPS staff visited the Sikh family after the incident in which a delivering driver entered them in a form as "Terrorist" and apologized in person. The UPS also talked of taking strong measures against the driver. The firm said it recruits a large number of temporary workers to assist during the busy holiday season and the driver that had delivered the package was hired very recently on a temporary basis.

The Bakersfield Sikh family appreciated UPS\' concerns but said if UPS comes out openly in public and apologizes, that would greatly benefit the Sikh community as it has to cope with similar incidents on a day to day basis. They told the press that after hearing from UPS the week the incident took place, they have not heard back from any of its staff members.
