Jan 31 fixed for next hearing in Ludhiana City Centre case

Ludhiana , Jan 10 The next hearing in the case of the alleged multi-crore
Ludhiana City Centre (LCC) scam, in which former chief minister Capt
Amarinder Singh is also an accused, has been fixed for January 31 for
arguments on charges.

Sessions Judge G K Rai today also fixed January 29 as the final date for
examination of documents by the accused.
Within a month of coming to power, the Prakash Singh Badal government had
filed an FIR in March 2007 alleging that the outgoing chief minister Capt
Amarinder Singh had violated norms and diluted the terms and conditions to
favour his kin in connection with the LCC project being developed by
Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) in partnership with' Today Homes&aposon
25.5 acres of prime land.
Following the FIR, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau had on December 12, 2007
filed a 106-page chargesheet against Amarinder Singh, his son and son-in-law
and others.
Among those present in the court today were Amarinder Singh&aposs son and
son-in-law - Ranninder Singh and Raminder Singh respectively, and former
local bodies minister Jagjit Singh who are all co-accused in the case.
The court said discussion on the cancellation of bail of 19 other accused
would also be held on January 31.
Amarinder Singh had been earlier exempted from personal appearance for
today&aposs hearing on medical grounds.
